Diagnose first. Fix second.

How your business
actually runs.

We map your processes, find what’s costing you the most, and tell you whether the fix is automation, a new system, or just removing steps. Most engagements lead into CRM, automation, or custom work — but only after the diagnosis says they should.

Every discovery workshop starts with the same question: what would change if this part of the business ran 30% faster, or cost 30% less? Then we measure where you actually are against that.

Sound familiar?

Symptoms we see weekly in small businesses that have grown faster than their processes.

  • 01“We do it this way because we’ve always done it this way.”
  • 02New staff take three months to be useful because the process lives in someone’s head.
  • 03Quotes, invoices, and follow-ups happen in five different tools that don’t talk.
  • 04You spend Sunday nights doing admin that should have happened automatically.
  • 05A customer complaint takes a week because nobody owns the next step.

How an engagement runs

Five phases. You decide where to stop. Each one has a tangible deliverable you take with you.

01

Discovery workshop

A structured half-day session with the people who actually do the work. We map the current state — what happens, who does it, where it stalls, what it costs in time and rework.

You take away

Current-state process map + cost-of-mess estimate

02

Diagnosis

We come back with a written report ranking the friction by impact and effort. Some fixes are automation. Some are a new system. Some are just removing steps. We tell you which is which.

You take away

Written recommendation report + prioritised roadmap

03

Pick the right fix

You decide which recommendations to action. The roadmap shows what each one would take, what it would cost, and what number it should move. Some clients tackle the cheap-fast wins first; others go straight for the heaviest cost.

You take away

Sign-off on the scope of work

04

Implementation

Depending on the answer, this could be automation we build, a customer-pipeline rebuild, custom development, or simply you and your team making the changes with our coaching support. We scope and price each phase separately so you can stop at any point.

You take away

Working changes in production, measured against the baseline

05

Measure

We come back six to twelve weeks later to re-measure the same process metrics from the discovery workshop. Did the change actually move the number? What needs another iteration? The discipline of measuring closes the loop.

You take away

Post-change review + next-iteration recommendation

How pricing works

Fixed-fee discovery. Variable from there.

From $1,950 — fully creditable

Half-day workshop, current-state process map, and written recommendation report. The full $1,950 is creditable against a 6-month implementation retainer if you sign one within 60 days — so if we work together on the fix, the discovery costs you nothing net.

Implementation is scoped and quoted separately on the recommendations you decide to action — whether that’s automation, a system change, or coaching your team to make the changes themselves. You keep the roadmap either way.

When to call us

Situations where the discovery workshop tends to pay back quickly.

  • You suspect there is waste somewhere but can’t point at it.
  • You’re about to buy software but aren’t sure if it solves the actual problem.
  • New staff onboarding takes too long because nothing is documented.
  • You’re considering hiring more people but worry the process is the bottleneck, not headcount.
  • A customer complaint or near-miss has surfaced a process gap.
  • You want a second opinion before committing to a major operational change.

Common questions

Do we have to commit to anything beyond the workshop?
No. The discovery workshop and recommendation report stand on their own. Many clients use the report internally to drive their own changes. If you want us to implement, that’s a separate scope quoted on the recommendations you choose to action.
What if the answer is "you don’t need new software"?
We’ll tell you. We’ve had engagements where the recommendation was to cancel an existing tool, simplify a process, and redistribute work — no software involved. We’d rather lose an automation engagement than sell you something that won’t fix the actual problem.
How is this different from a management consultant?
Three things. We deliver fixed-fee, not day rate. We don’t leave you with a deck — we leave you with a process map and a prioritised roadmap. And we can implement whatever we recommend ourselves, so there’s no handoff gap between the diagnosis and the fix.
Who should be in the discovery workshop?
The people who actually do the work, not just the people who manage it. Owner / operator, two or three frontline staff, and anyone who handles the handoffs between functions. Four to six people in the room is the sweet spot.
How long is the whole engagement?
Discovery workshop is half a day. Recommendation report follows within a week. From there, you decide. Some clients take the report and self-implement. Others move straight into a fix that takes anything from two weeks to several months depending on scope.
